Introduction to Dashboards

For teams that have it included in their license, Workzone's customizable dashboards provide enhanced reporting and visibility that can give insights into a variety of different activities across the platform. A dashboard page can be composed of multiple reports.

NOTE: Enhanced Dashboards is an Enterprise level feature of Workzone. For more details on upgrading your team's Workzone license to Enterprise, please contact us at help@workzone.com or call 610-275-9861.

      Getting Started with Dashboards

Dashboards can be found in the Reports module by clicking the DASHBOARDS title on the left side.

If you're new to Dashboards and a Dashboard page hasn't already been created for you to view (by another member of your team), you'll see the following preexisting Dashboard pages (you can read more about the specific reports by following each link):

You can add a new dashboard page by clicking the plus (+) symbol just to the right of the DASHBOARDS title (highlighted above). When adding a new dashboard page, you can select a prebuilt dashboard from Workzone's Dashboard Library (more on that below) and customize it to your needs, or create a new dashboard of your own design by clicking the create a new dashboard from scratch link.

      New Dashboard

If you're creating a new dashboard from scratch (instead of the pre-built library options in the next section below), the process starts with entering the Dashboard Name and then selecting the Visibility (Everyone or Only Me)

NOTE: If a user has access to the Reports module, they can access a dashboard designated for Everyone, otherwise the dashboard page you create will only be visible for your user.

After clicking the Create button, you can choose the first report you'd like to add from the different Report Library sections on the left, which are listed below. You can use the following section links below to learn more about each specific report and it's adjustable options:

      Dashboard Library

If, instead of the create a new dashboard from scratch link, you choose one of the preconfigured dashboard pages from the Dashboard Library on the left, each page pulls data from five distinct features, some with specific focuses. You can learn more about each report and it's adjustable options with each link:

      Editing a Dashboard Page

      Adding a New Report

After having created a dashboard page from scratch or selecting one of the preconfigured dashboard pages, you can additional reports using the "Add Report" button in the top right. In the overlay, you can then select from the different reports identified in the links above.

      Filter Options

Clicking the funnel icon to the right of the dashboard page title provides filtering of the current dashboard page. Details on editing the filters of a dashboard page can be found HERE.

      Additional Options

In addition to the "Add Report" button and filtering icon described above, there are other functions available at the top. The question mark (?) icon provides a link to the knowledge base. The gear icon (⚙) has Dashboard Settings for Dashboard Name and Visibility, as described in the New Dashboard section above as well as a Remove this Dashboard link that will remove the current dashboard page entirely. Also, the printer icon will print the current dashboard page.

      Resizing and Rearranging Reports

For reports displaying on a dashboard page, you can shuffle the placement of a report by dragging and dropping it above, below, or alongside of another report. Square shaped reports are arranged in two columns. You can also stretch a square shaped report to a wider rectangle shape (or vice versa) by clicking and dragging the left or right of a report.

      Interacting with a Report

There are a variety of areas on a report that can be clicked, as seen in the example below:

    1. Clicking on the data in a report (regardless of the specific report) will show an overlay with more specifics of the data behind that report. Here's an example:
    2. The gear icon (⚙) displays an overlay with report settings identical to those available when the report is added initially, such as the report type (format), report name, RANGE AND FILTERING OPTIONS, as well as a Remove this Report link (in the bottom left).
    3. This sharing icon provides options to print the current report or download (export) a PNG image of the particular, individual report.
    4. Some reports will also have the ability to hide different series of data on the report by clicking the series label(s).

NOTE: The DASHBOARDS section is not to be confused with the Dashboard page found in the GENERAL section of Reports.
