April 2021 Visual Update

In keeping with a consistent focus on making our system as easy and simple to use as possible, this month we’re making some small visual changes to modernize and lighten the look of various aspects of Workzone.

Here’s a look at what you can expect:

Top Navigation Bar

A brief history lesson; when Workzone was first developed, its only focus was on document management, so the Documents module was always listed as the first module (left to right). Over time, most of our customer base has grown to more heavily utilize Projects and even some other modules, so we’re updating the order of those top modules to better reflect this, with both Projects and Requests listed to the left of the Documents module now.

Here’s a look at the old order, compared to the new (with every available module enabled):

NOTE: If your team doesn’t have Projects or Requests enabled, you’ll still see Documents as the left-most selection.

Task List (and Gantt Chart)

Workzone’s main Task List view is a wealth of information, and with careful consideration of the importance of viewing this data, we’ve made a few color and styling updates, particularly with regards to the top header on the main table.

Here’s a comparison of the old look and the new (y):

NOTE: Your Workzone site's fields/columns displayed may be different than those depicted above.

Overlays (Add Project, Request Approval, etc.)

Overlays like the one for creating a new project have also gotten a new “paint job”, as you can see here:

…and here, with this one for requesting a document approval:

NOTE: Your Workzone site may show different fields when creating a project.

To-Do List

Much like the main Task List described above, the To-Do List report is also heavily relied on by many for it’s focus and collective view of information, and it’s gotten some new visual changes as well:

…and the list goes on...

Everything mentioned above is not an exhaustive list, but rather some of the main highlights we think will be a bit more noticeable at first sight. There are a variety of other areas that have been touched as well. The Approvals report is another great example:

We hope these new styling changes make Workzone even more visually appealing as we continue to make the system look and function even better.
